Star Music Trek Unveils 17 Artistes For 2014 Tour .

Nigeria’s most popular city music tour, Star Music Trek, has officially unveiled its exciting star line up for this year’s pan-Nigerian concert.
The select list of performers was revealed to an exclusive audience comprising celebrities, members of the press and officials of the brand at a suspense-filled sign-on press conference, which held at Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island, Lagos, on March 19, 2014.
The press conference, preceded by the popular ‘My City Rocks’ campaign, attracted artistes and various celebrities who commented eagerly on what made their cities so special and unique. Excited fans all over the country engaged in the interactive campaign on electronic and online mediums where they also got an opportunity to guess the artistes on this year’s line-up.
“Our theme, ‘My City Rocks,’ is inspired by the uniqueness of many Nigerian cities. Young Nigerians have connected to these special traits in a unique way as only they can and have made this campaign all the more spectacularly engaging right from the very beginning. Thus, we are just as eager as our teeming fans as we commence Star Music Trek 2014. As usual, we’ll be taking the brightest and best of Nigerian music and artistes all across the country and can assure our fans that this year’s Trek will be filled with spectacular surprises,” said corporate media and brand public relations manager, Edem Vindah.
The chief marketing officer MTN, Larry Anetts, Olisa Adibua, Toni Kan, Uti Nwachukwu, TY Mix, Mark Redguard, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi and Mo’ Eazy were some of the guests at the event.
Star Music Trek 2014 performers include 2Face, Tiwa Savage, M.I, Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Sound Sultan, Pasuma, Mr Raw, Dr Sid, Naeto C, KCee, Sean Tizzle, Phyno and May D.
Hosts for the regional concert are Gbenga Adeyinka, Do2tun of Cool FM and Laff Up with DJ Neptune, DJ Switch, DJ Blaise as official disc jockies for The Trek.
The concert, which has been in existence since the early ‘90s, has become the nation’s most anticipated music carnival with the country’s biggest artistes delivering spectacular performances to the delight of thousands of fans across the country.
In addition to delivering Nigeria’s favourite artistes right across the country, it also turns each venue into a spectacular music feast drawing thousands of eager fans to each concert to watch stunning performances from their favourite artistes each weekend during the three-month tour.
The Trek 2014 will be touring the following cities; Nsukka, March 29; Makurdi, April 5; Uyo, April 12; Umuahia April 19; Orlu, April 26; Ekwulobia, May 3; Onitsha Fegge, May 11; Benin May 17; Ado Ekiti, May 24; and Lagos May 31.
